Shark! “The Meg” & Shark Talk
The movie’s plot features a massive creature that attacks a deep-sea submersible, leaving it disabled and trapping the crew at the bottom of the Pacific. With time running out, a visionary oceanographer recruits rescue diver Jonas Taylor to save the crew and the sea itself from an unimaginable threat — a 75-foot-long prehistoric shark known as the Megalodon.
Join us before both showings to meet Doug Duch, a local shark tooth diver who has completed over 700 dives in the Wilmington River. A board member of the Marine Science Center, Doug will provide insight into Megalodons, the biggest shark you never saw, and show off some of his most impressive shark teeth artifacts. Stick around after each show for Q&A with the science center’s curator about the species depicted in the movie.
Proceeds benefit the Tybee Post Theater and Tybee Island Marine Science Center.
